TRAVEL CAPSULE WARDROBE

After much deliberation I have come to the conclusion that I will be taking the below selection with me for the 3 months backpacking through Asia which will be from Sept to Nov incl. Luckily the weather will remain somewhat even throughout this region so I wont have to pack any large coats or boots simply pack strategically and wear LAYERS. The secret to making a travel wardrobe stretch further and be more versatile is layers. I cant emphasise it enough

CLOTHING

*1 SINGLET

*2 VESTS

*3 T-SHIRTS/ LOOSE SHIRTS

*1 BEACK KAFTAN

*1 BLOUSE

*2 DRESSES (ONE MAXI, ONE SHORT-ER)

*1 PAIR OF DENIM SHORTS

*1 SKATER SKIRT

*1 MAXI SKIRT

*1 FUNKY (LOOSE) PANTS

*LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET

ADDITIONALS

*PJ'S- 1X BLACK BONDS SINGLET, 1X BLACK RUNNING SHORTS, 1X BLACK LEGGINGS

*2 BIKINIS

* RAIN JACKET

*1 LIGHTWEIHT SCARF

SHOES

*EVERYDAY WALKING SHOES (WALNUT MELBOURNE- IN BISCUIT)

*FLAT SANDALS (BLACK & TAN)

*THONGS (FOR SHOWERS AND BEACH)

Some of you may read this and think,' well I could travel on much less' but I have chosen not to. I could limit my wardrobe further but some of these pieces like my beach kaftan add so much life and colour and are actually very versatile. For example with my kaftan I could simply throw it over a bikini or wear it with the singlet and denim shorts or even wear on a night out over one of my dresses as they are both block colours.

STYLING ON THE ROAD

Being a glampacker isn't easy.  It means finding the perfect balance between looking (and feeling) good while on the road whilst not bringing your entire wardrobe and every hairstyling aid possible. I believe that I have found the right balance.

My essentials include a 3 step skincare range, my mineral make-up and a couple of other make-up pieces (more on this below).

With a lack of hair (due to shaving it all off 2 years ago) I'm lucky that I don't have to worry about a specialised shampoo and conditioner let alone any treatments. I may take a small amount of hair wax though for the odd occassion where my hair decides to stand on end.

Additionally many of my friends have travelled with hair styling tools; hair dryers, straighteners etc. I was lucky to be born with fine, straight hair so again no requirement for any of these electrics. Confession: I did however purchase a mini straightener to curl my hair whilst abroad as sometimes you just want to mix up the style. I  picked it up because it's so small, light, suitable for international voltage variances and was only A$19.

As I indicated above I will be travelling with make-up. This is something that I just cant break up with before I go as it's become an everyday part of life.

Yep, i'm one of those people who wears make-up to the beach, to the gym and everyday at work (I'm not talking 2inches thick with false lashes, tan and lipstick, just the minimum to give me an even complexion and some colour). I'll be taking with me my NUDE by Nature Make-up brush set along with my NUDE mineral powder foundation, concealer, blush, mascara, liquip eyeliner and a tinted lip balm. Along with a small set of eyeshadows & a statement lipstick to mix up the look whilst away. 3 months away offers so many opportunities for new looks.

THE NOSE KNOWS BEST

Obviously taking glass bottles of perfume in a soft duffle suitcase is impractical. So in my research, trawling through fellow blog sites www.pack-your-passport.com and travelfashiongirl.com, I discovered Aroamas. These are compact perfume sticks that do not melt in the heat or break in your bag like glass would. They are so affordable and come in 23 different scents. I purchased 'The Solid Wanderlust Pack' a couple of months back and instantly fell in love with the it. I still have some perfume left even though I use them almost daily.

Personally I feel that I need a variety of perfumes for the different moods I'm in. Sometimes you need something a bit more spicy that packs a punch and other times a sweet vanilla scent is the perfect compliment to an outfit and a mood.

Additionally these perfumes aren't just perfect for travel, their compact size make them perfect for fitting in a compact clutch on a night out.

Finally the solid consistency allows me to apply it at work without feeling guilty,  like i'm going to cause someone to have a coughing fit from spraying a product in the enclosed office.
